EXPERTISE AND INTERESTS

Fran’s background is in Medical Anthropology and Psychology, and is currently training as a psychodynamic child & adolescent counselling psychotherapist with the aim of supporting children in navigating the complexities of identity and development. Fran's interests are in the training and development of mental health practitioners; evidence-based practice & policy; children's rights in mental health & education; culture, immigration, and diversity in mental health research and practice. Fran uses primarily qualitative and creative methods, alongside mixed methods. Fran has taught research, child development and children's rights on both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the field of childhood, education & work in communities at the University of East London.
