EXPERTISE AND INTERESTS

Silvia's main research interests are around the development and application of quantitative methods for economic evaluations of health technologies. She has an interest in the use of causal inference and machine learning methods for the design and implementation of observational studies on the effects of interventions on health outcomes. Silvia's ARC project seeks to harness large datasets of electronic health records to inform the relative effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of emergency surgery for patients with acute appendicitis in the UK.

Silvia hold an MSc in Health Economics from the University of York, and is funded by a NIHR ARC North Thames PhD studentship.
