Understanding Disability – help improve understanding of disability or disability-related questions in UK surveys

19 Dec 2022

Help boost the use of disability/disability-related survey questions in research!

We invite individuals with disabilities to help review disability survey questions and match them to a disability model, a group of terms that can be used together to help try to understand the concept of disability. This will help researchers and policy makers use more disability survey questions and better understand disability. The project will include four activities: an introduction to the study, the survey questions matching activity, a post-activity discussion, and a reflective discussion.

We are looking for twelve members of the public who can contribute to this study, particularly adults who are in North-East, North-Central, and East London, and Mid and South Essex geographical regions and currently identify as disabled.

For further information on study please checkout our understanding disability advert.

Applications will close on 27th January 2023.

If you are interested in helping us with the study, please contact Eirini (e.saloniki@ucl.ac.uk) or William (william.lammons@ucl.ac.uk) who will be happy to talk through everything and answer any questions you may have.

We want you to feel comfortable and able to fully participate so please let us know about any individual needs that you might have. Please be assured that a conversation with William or Eirini will not commit you to being involved if you decide it is not right for you!
