This scoping study uses realist action research to better understand the influence of diverse cultural backgrounds and ethnicity as barriers to access and uptake of local authority commissioned adult social care services, in the London Boroughs of Newham and Redbridge.
A public advisor, users and carers of local adult social care services, decision makers, researchers, and key stakeholders will produce definitions, review existing evidence, understand user / carer views about the barriers to access and uptake, so they can be prioritised using information from wider stakeholders. This information will feed into co-developed resources, and the study will be used to evaluate the feasibility of realist action research for adult social care.
