EXPERTISE AND INTERESTS

Joseph’s research focuses on the use of large electronic health record and register data to understand the aetiology, treatment and prognosis of severe mental illness (schizophrenia and bipolar disorder). In particular, he is interested in the personalisation of treatment for bipolar disorder. He is also working to develop predictive and causal inference machine learning models to improve mental health outcomes.
