EXPERTISE AND INTERESTS

Gill Livingston is professor of psychiatry of older people in the UCL Division of Psychiatry and a consultant old age psychiatrist at the Camden & Islington NHS Foundation Trust.

Gill led the Lancet International Commission on Dementia Prevention, Intervention and Care, 2017 and is leading an update to the commission.

Her research includes a life-course analysis of risk of dementia and ways of delaying and preventing it. It also aims to clarify the scale of and mechanisms of symptoms in people with dementia and their family, and test practical, scalable interventions - finding what works for people with dementia and their carers. Gill is currently supervising an ARC PhD project, which is examining equity in service provision for older people with dementia.
